It has been a long time but alas I have returned. I had some computer issues but those have now been resolved. Starting tonight I am back in the saddle for my RAW and Smackdown thoughts throughout the night. I am also working on figuring out this whole webcam business but for now Im going to do this the old fashion way. Type it. Ill keep you posted.

FBD Out

Greetings and salutations. Each week I am going to review Raw and Smackdown and give my random opinion on things. This is a work in progress so please bear with me.

Segment 1

I thought the opening segment was good. Vince on TV is good TV. He is a good character. He can pick on a problem he has with other organizations, but he can also poke a little fun at himself once in a while, which makes it fun to watch. I like the whole ‘Enus” joking. I don’t know a whole lot of people who do, but I like The Miz. It’s crazy as shit that this guy was on the Real World on MTV. I think he has some potential, I don’t know about being World Champ, but he has potential to be pretty damn good. His comments directed at John Cena are great. His best line he said was a few weeks ago he said “You’re right John, I can’t see you. Your movies aren’t in theatres long enough. He can deliver some good zingers, and his wrestling is above average, in my opinion. I hope he can carry a program with Cena, they are trying him vs. Cena as dark main events to see if The Miz can carry a PPV match. Another reason I like Miz is because it is nice to see a fresh face in the spotlight instead of the same 6 or 7 guys all the damn time. I thought the start of the night was decent and Im diggin the main event, which I will get to a little later on.

Segment 2: Divas Championship: Maryse (c) vs. Kelly Kelly

While the divas are very good looking women, I am not really fond of divas wrestling. There are a few that can wrestle, but for the most part they can’t do it. Maryse is my favorite diva, and she can actually wrestle. Unfortunately, Kelly Kelly cannot, so I stopped paying attention half way through. Winner: Kelly Kelly via DQ. On a scale of 1 to 5 turnbuckles, I give the match a generous 1.5

Segment 3

It has been a while, but I dig the Golddust shtick. The whole stuttering and shit I like it. I liked the Jack Nicholson look alike, but he should not have spoke. If you want to look like Jack, that’s cool, but if you can’t talk like Jack, keep your mouth shut.

Segment 4

I love Ric Flair but he needs to either get back in the ring, or go home and stay there. A casual fan would think the Randy Orton is going to defend the WWE title against Ric Flair, you’d never know he was taking on Batista. In a completely unrelated  note, the commercial for Mike Tyson’s Punch Out minus Tyson, looks pretty cool.

Segment 5: Triple Threat Match to determine the #1 Contender to the US title Matt Hardy vs. Regal vs. Kofi Kingston

I really like Matt as a heel. I think finally it is his time to shine, especially since noone knows if Jeff is going to stick around or not. There was no chance they both could be successful singles faces, and Jeff would not make a good heel since he is too over. Matt fits the bill quite nicley. I think we will see some big things from him on the horizon. Regal, I’m not sure what to think of him anymore. He was getting a decent push for a little while then got busted for drugs, so now he is just in this mid card rut. Kofi has a huge upside in my opinion and guys like him and Evan Bourne can take the ‘Lucha Libre’ style of wrestling to a whole new level. Pretty solid match throughout with Kofi picking up the win. Should be a good match between he and MVP next week. Middle of the Road 2.5 out of 5.

Segment 6

Ric Flair comes to the ring to call out Randy Orton. Since he can’t ‘wrestle’ anymore, now he just shows up and ‘calls people out.’  Peeps, this dude has got to be jakked up on ‘roids cause his arms are fucking huge. No chance an almost 60 year old man can look like that, especially if you saw Flair in his last match at Wrestlemania 24. Randy Orton is a top heel right now, there isn’t too many people that can get the heat he can from a crowd. While it was good to see Kennedy back, I don’t like the fact that it took away from the Orton segment, nor do I like the fact that dude has been out for almost a year and it seems as if he is going to be thrust into a main event program. While I stated earlier I want to see some new faces, how bout the ones thats been bustin their asses while he has been out making a straight to DVD movie and rehabing his injury. I like his addition to the main event, but could’ve saved it for intros and let Flair and Orton do a little more.

Segment 7: Santino & Mickie James vs Chavo & Beth Phoenix (Winner choses stip for Vikki/Santina match at Extreme Rules

First off, Santino Marella is MONEY!! This guy is money on the stick and the whole Santina thing is fucking hilarious. It was your basic ‘gimmicky’ time filler match. Funny watching Santino trying to grope Mickie James and shit. Santino & Mickie pick up the win. After the match of course Vikki had to come out with the Excuse me shit. Then Santino says some funny shit and then makes the match a ‘hog pen’ match and starts snorting. Short but decent match, Mickie and Beth can actually wrestle. 2 out of 5.

Segment 8

Big Show backstage telling The Miz if he wants to mix it up with Cena that is fine but he will be the one to get the pin and walks away, to which Miz says “like you did at Judgement Day?” Show comes back and asks if he said anything. Silence of course. Cut to commercial. Decent segment.

Segment 9 GoldDust/Hornswaggle vs. Kendrick/Festus

Initial thoughts:  What in the hell is this all about? They decide to waste time with this gimmicky bullshit. I would have preferred more time given to the main event. The Colons are boring on commentary. Crowd was dead, I went to the kitchen for a Gatorade. Complete waste of time, would’ve rather watched a divas match. GoldDust/Hornswaggle pick up the win. VERY generous 1 out of 5.  Some post match bullshit, I sneezed and it was over.

Main Event: Team Nuggets:Miz/Show/Legacy vs. Team Lakers: Batista/Cena/Lawler/MVP/Kennedy

The NBA-esque intros I liked. Show high fiving everyone but the Miz was pretty funny seeing Miz put his hands up and Show just scared him. I dont’ get why Lawler couldn’t be in the booth before the match. Love Jim Ross, but why? But JR’s zinger about Lawler playing ball with Naismith. While I liked the intros I thought they spent a little too much time on it. They went to commercial too many times during the main event. They should’ve did more commercials earlier in the night and had more TV time for the main event. The 5 knuckle shuffle/Ballin combo was pretty cool. Winners: Team Lakers. Post match Cena/Batista suplexing the Big Show was very predictable. Match of the night 3 out of 5. Overall pretty good night. Ill be doing predictions for the next PPV in about a week or so. Hope I didn’t bore you too much. Ill see ya on friday for Smackdown.

FBD out

So I got home yesterday from my trip to Ohio to see my friends and family. It was a strange trip in that it was the first one since I moved here that I have went without the Mrs. My mom had to have a medical procedure done, and all went well. I stopped up at a friends house that I hadn’ t seen in damn near 5 years, and it was like we saw each other yesterday. We spent some time catching up on things and what not. I’ve known the dude for pretty much my whole life, and for some reason we lost contact with one another, then I moved here, and we still did not keep in touch. But it was really great to see him and his wife, and this time I got a number and an email address, so the same mistake doesn’t get made twice. I also spent some one on one time with my sister, which hardly ever happens anymore. When I was younger, she would take me to lunch and we would just hang out and talk. We have a special brother/sister connection that I cherish a whole hell of a lot. I had some talks with my mom which 5 years ago would never have happened, cause we just could not get along. So when I decided to move here in June 2006, little did I know it would be the best thing for our relationship. But I am home now so it’s back to life. It’s just really nice to know that some things never change.

You will have to bear with me for I am new to this blog game. I am Far Byond Drvn a.k.a Doug. Basically, just like everyone else who does this type of shit, to rant  and opinionate. I don’t really know if anyone will check this out, but I hope a few will. Just a little bit about myself. I am 31 years old, married for almost 2 years with a house and a dog. I like TV, music, movies, wrestling, racing, gaming, football, hockey, and some other interesting and not so interesting things. I collect NASCAR and NHRA die cast cars, namely Jeff Gordon and John Force. I will get into more as time passes, just a little insight as to what you may or may not see on my blog. I want to thank my friend Bagels for helping me with the site, as changes are coming sometime soon. So thanks for checking my site out and keep checking back as I usually blog whenever I got something on my mind, which is quite often.
